Third Grade

Third Grade

The third grade classroom is self-contained with the exception of resource classes for art, music, physical education, library, and computer literacy. A well-balanced, yet diverse program is planned for students. The program includes reading, language, spelling, writing, math, science, history, and Bible. Field trips, assembly programs, and sporting events are frequently scheduled. Homework is assigned Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.

Below is a listing of curriculum that we use at Greenbrier Enrichment Center and School:

  • Bible: ACSI Elementary Bible Series
  • Math: Houghton Mifflin Math
  • Science: Houghton Mifflin
  • Social Studies: Harcourt Horizons
  • Reading: Literacy by Design – Houghton Mifflin Harcourt
  • Language: Bob Jones University & Evan Moor
  • Handwriting: Handwriting without Tears

Independent Reading: Some class time is allocated for independent reading and testing through Book Adventures. All students are expected to set personal goals and can choose from a variety of genre.
